I was always considered the "picture taker" of the family, the one with the camera in everybody's face. So, I started taking family pictures and looking at how I could make them "fun" using my graphic design background. I enjoyed working with kids and allowing them to express who they are and then optimizing the pictures utilizing my artistic talents.

I started taking more and more pictures and really enjoyed it. So I became Jessica Koopmans Photography in 2006. I moved on from taking just family pictures to wedding and senior pictures in 2007 and found that I really liked the challenge of being able to push myself and explore new ideas and styles. Today I have done over 20 weddings and numerous senior pictures. I enjoy each sitting as a new experience as each subject is a unique personality that I bring to life.
